MP Applauds Brilliant Work at FTIH
Darren Paffey MP, Labour Member of Parliament for Southampton Itchen, has visited the Future Towns Innovation Hub, housed in Southampton Science Park’s Engineering Centre.
Commenting on his experience, Mr Paffey MP said, “Places like this are helping to cement Southampton's reputation for innovation, and it was great to learn more about how they're harnessing science and technology to create happier, healthier communities. I'll be talking to ministerial colleagues about the brilliant work that's taking place here and across Southampton and following their progress with real interest.” See more here.
During his visit, the Hub’s Ruby Jackson led a tour of the facilities and discussed the projects taking place on site, while PhD students from the University of Southampton’s School of Engineering demonstrated how their research can address real-world challenges.
The Future Towns Innovation Hub was established at Southampton Science Park in 2023 as part of The Engineering Centre, an initiative to expand on the availability of high quality, specialised environments for companies innovating in engineering disciplines.
