Optomel is a photonics company, commercialising products and devices enabled by self-organised materials. Our products address fundamental limits on existing optical filter technology used throughout science and technology. Our unique approach, compared to traditional vacuum processing, allows sophisticated reflective optical filters to be thinner, lighter and larger compared to existing dielectric interference filters. These filters are widespread in many photonic applications: including multi-spectral imaging, LED lighting and laser protection through to reflective display screens for augmented and virtual reality displays.

Optomel provides a custom service to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users. Sectors include optical technology, life sciences, space and defence.
