Roads Less Travelled
Southampton Science Park hosted an alternative transport day recently to encourage residents to explore more environmentally friendly and healthy ways to get to work.
Southampton Science Park’s Operations Director Stuart Perry was encouraged by the level of interest in the solutions available from colleagues across the Park.
“It’s clear that a lot of people are keen to make changes to the way they travel but need some guidance on what will work best for their individual circumstances,” he said. “I hope that this focus day, which brought a range of solution providers together under one roof at one time, sparked new ideas and opportunities for those wanting to switch to a more sustainable travel option. I am grateful to all the partner organisations for coming along and taking the time to explain how they can help.”
Attending the event were:
- Bluestar bus network
- Breeze journey planner app
- Enterprise Car Club vehicle hire by the hour
- Liftango car share scheme
- Love to Ride cycling network and support
- Montys Bike Hub social enterprise and charity for all things cycling
- Skoda electric vehicles
- Southampton City Council Workplace Travel Network
- Tesla electric vehicles
