Moving On Up

Woodrow Scientific has moved into larger premises to accommodate operational growth. The company first came to Southampton Science Park in September 2020, having won a place on the prestigious Catalyst business accelerator programme. In December 2021, it proudly took residency in its new 1,500 sq. ft office in the Science Park’s Benham 4 facility.

The company, led by John Clowes, has built on laser technology expertise to develop a unique, approach to cleaning large, often inaccessible infrastructure assets such as bridges, wind turbines and electricity pylons. This autonomous cleaning method extends the life and performance of the asset, while significantly reducing workforce health and safety risks. Being water, chemical, abrasive and waste-free, the approach has a negligible environmental impact too.

Speaking about the company’s move, John Clowes said: “It is an exciting time for the team at Woodrow Scientific in the development of our eye-safe, autonomous laser-cleaning technology.  The Science Park provides a fantastic environment to promote high-tech product development and we are delighted to have taken residence here alongside so many interesting companies”
