Hitting The Main Stage
Two former participants of Southampton Science Park’s Catalyst business accelerator took their innovations to the world-famous Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held annually in Las Vegas. CES is the most influential tech event in the world — the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators. This is where the world's biggest brands do business and meet new partners, and the sharpest innovators hit the stage.
Audioscenic collaborated with two other leading companies to showcase the wide-ranging possibilities of its immersive 3D audio technology. The first partnership with Tectonic Audio Lab demonstrated that it is possible to get a natural-sounding audio experience via a soundbar from anywhere in a room, not just the traditional ‘sweet spot’.
A second collaboration with Dimenco, a leader in light field display technology, revealed how Audioscenic’s proprietary head tracking technology delivers perfect 3D immersive content in simulated reality contexts without the need for wearables. Here, Audioscenic is capable of delivering controlled and independent sound beams direct to the left and right ears, creating ‘virtual headphones’ around the user.
Dr Marcos Simón, Founder and CTO at Audioscenic, said: “We were thrilled to partner with Tectonic to demonstrate the future of living room audio. We believe your audio system should adapt to you; you should not need to change where you sit or how you arrange your furniture to experience the best possible 3D audio.”
Dynamon, meanwhile, was proud to be a part of the UK Department for International Trade delegation at the show, before heading to Colorado to meet with various zero-emission mobility players including the North American Council for Freight Efficiency. “It is a truly great time to be in the automotive industry,” commented Dr Angus Webb, the company’s Founder and CEO.
Dynamon’s analytics processes create vast operational datasets to help fleet owners achieve significant cost and CO2 savings and make fully informed purchasing decisions. In 2021, it announced the introduction of new software, Zero, to enable transport and logistics operations to identify and optimise zero emission vehicles and charging infrastructure, and also predict electricity demand from electric vehicle depot charging. It satisfies an increasing need, borne out of the gradual transition to electric vehicles and the challenges that fleet operators are facing in meeting efficiency targets due to electricity demands, charging infrastructure and even vehicle types.
