Future Success Stories

Following a competitive pitch process, the founders of eight companies have entered Catalyst, the Science Park’s proven business accelerator programme for early-stage businesses with game-changing ideas.

Since it was established, Catalyst has fast-tracked success for 65 companies who have between them secured over £25m in funding and created 130 new jobs for our region.

This year, the Catalyst mentors and workshop leaders will be working to accelerate commercial success for:
 

• Adoor, whose founders Michael Wadsworth and Ian Jones are hoping to overturn the property market. Adoor connects everyone involved in a house move to create a joined-up, easy and on-demand way to track the process of buying and selling homes, reduce stress and finalise transactions faster.
• ANAMAD (Advanced Nanostructured Materials Design and Consultancy) has developed a cost-effective way to decontaminate fresh water and wastewater from organic pollutants including bacteria and viruses, microorganisms and microplastics without adding chemicals. Its founders are Sergey Mikhalovsky and Matthew Illsley.
• ES Consulting is improving supply chain efficiency and profitability with a new level stock control and warehouse management system. Founder Hugh Smith’s revolutionary Barcoder 250 system delivers a comprehensive warehouse management solution, boosts productivity and performance.
• Gera.Solutions is helping export companies to improve sales through language and translation support. Founder Anita Gera’s idea is to ensure companies communicate consistently and effectively about their goods or services in multiple languages in such a way that everyone in their target group understands and appreciates.
• Geospatex founders Matthew Jensen and Roger Gardner have leveraged the power of artificial intelligence to develop an active and comprehensive monitoring and security solution using dynamic 3D light detecting and ranging technology to trigger, track and record events on both fixed and mobile devices.
• KCC is supporting single-use plastic reduction targets with a revolutionary approach to food packaging. Founder Kevin Clarke has found a way to manufacture low carbon, high temperature food trays which deliver a viable alternative to single use plastic trays predominantly used with ready meals.
• OhmSpace a spin-out from the University of Southampton, has developed a new satellite propulsion system which removes dependence on hazardous chemical propulsion and offers a faster return on investment to satellite manufacturers and operators. Its founders are Federico Romei, Matt Robinson and Chris Ogunlesi.
• OTB Vendors hopes to improve profitability and service levels in the hospitality sector with a unique self-service bar. Patrick Songore and Michael Jobson. With a footprint of just 1m², it does the work of 6 bartenders, alleviating long queues, increasing customer spend per head and improving profit margins by reducing wastage.
