Building on success
Southampton Science Park was named Workplace Environment of the Year at the 2017 South Coast Property Awards which took place on Thursday 13th July. The success builds on the Science Park’s success in 2016 when it was named Business Park of the Year.
The Workplace Environment of the Year award recognises organisations that have used their property strategy to create quality working styles, increase productivity, innovative working environments and engender open, inclusive work cultures.
Peter Birkett, CEO of the Science Park, received the award. He said: “We are delighted to be named the South Coast’s Workplace Environment of the Year and to have been nominated in the category of Development of the Year for our new office accommodation, 5 Benham Campus.
“Success in these two, very different, categories demonstrates that we are so much more than a property business. Our ABC – accommodation, business support and community – proposition is proving to be of considerable benefit to the nearly 100 companies and employees based here. Importantly too, it offers a compelling and exciting prospect for science and technology businesses looking for a base in the South of England.”
The South Coast Property Awards highlight outstanding talent in the commercial and residential property sectors, bringing the community together to celebrate the important role it plays in growing the region’s economy. BBC presenter Jeremy Vine hosted the evening.
