UKSPA Spring Conference
Stuart Perry, Operations Director represented Southampton Science Park at UKSPA’s spring conference, which took place at Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge recently.
Following keynotes which delved into the status of the UK’s start up and scale up economies, presentations covered stakeholder theory and master planning, with some interesting case studies on how innovation parks are working to deliver the necessary infrastructure to build a successful future for UK science and technology businesses.
Stuart said, “UKSPA conferences are always beneficial in bringing together the innovation community and helping us to collaborate constructively. This is important in making sure that we don’t work in isolation or competition but for the advancement of the industry as a whole.
I found the presentations centred on skills, talent and growth particularly interesting. It’s clear that, as a nation, we continue to face skills challenges, so it was encouraging to hear how organisations invested in science and technology up and down the country are working to attract the next generation of talent.”
Some 120,000 people are employed within 6,000 companies and organisations based at UKSPA member locations.
