Pitching for a Place
On 2nd and 8th July, twenty company founders pitched for a place on Catalyst, Southampton Science Park’s premier business support programme for start-ups and early stage companies.
Robin Chave, CEO of the Science Park and long-term member of the judging panel, remarked: “We were very pleased with the calibre of applications for our Catalyst business accelerator this year. The shortlisted applicants who we invited to pitch had all prepared well and, as is usually the case, the judging panel was treated to a range of innovative ideas across a wide spectrum of markets. Comparing them is always difficult. We debated long and hard about which companies showed the greatest potential for breakthrough success and would likely benefit most from the Catalyst experience.”
Invitations to participate will be issued shortly and the successful cohort line-up will be revealed in September, in line with the commencement of the 2024 coaching programme.
Online Applications are always welcome for the Catalyst business accelerator, which is fully funded and takes place in person at the Science Park. A range of other business support initiatives and events are also available.
Southampton Science Park is grateful to receive funding for Catalyst from the UK Government via Test Valley Borough Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
