Engaging, Motivating, Eye-Opening!
A Women’s Entrepreneurs Workout hosted by Southampton Science Park in partnership with SETsquared has been hailed an ‘engaging, motivating, eye-opening’ success by participants.
This latest business support event in the Science Park calendar took place in the lead up to International Women’s Day. Designed specifically for female founders of digital, technology and science-based ventures, it offered an inclusive and supportive environment for female entrepreneurs to join together to develop their business models.
Here’s what some attendees had to say.
Majo Argote, co-founder of PomHealth, reflected, “The past two days at the Women’s Entrepreneurs Workout were incredibly valuable to me as an individual and as a founder. It’s not often that I’m in a room filled with smart, and motivated female entrepreneurs. For most of my professional career, I’ve often been one of the few women at the table, so it was hugely motivating to be in a room with purpose-driven women.”
Kate Penning, HowAmI’s co-founder and COO said, “Being given the chance to delve into the business model in such an in-depth way on the Women’s Entrepreneurs Workout has added a new dimension to our understanding of how we can talk about HowAmI with investors and potential key partners.”
Autsera founder, Inas Ismail, commented, “The Women Entrepreneurs Workout has been an eye-opener. It challenged our assumptions about every aspect of Autsera. It prompted us to ask difficult questions and to think out of the box to find the answers. We wouldn’t have been able to do all that without the guidance of the three knowledgeable and engaging business coaches there. The support received has prompted me to think of other customer segments, and to highlight other product benefits, and to overhaul our value proposition. I also came back with more testing ideas of our product and features”
Sam Peiperhoff, founder of Barboxes, said, “As a solo founder, it’s really easy to get stuck in my own echo chamber. I found the discussions around other successful business case studies, presented really eye-opening and super helpful to consider different ways of approaching the various startup challenges.”
Southampton Science Park and SETsquared are delighted to be offering a further Entrepreneurs Workout on 14th and 15th May. Applications are now open for all founders of science and technology based ventures. This two day programme is fully funded and it could lead to further funded support via the Science Park’s highly acclaimed Catalyst Programme.
