Support for a Local Lifeline
Southampton Science Park was pleased to present a cheque for £2,000 to Southampton’s Waterside Foodbank this month, the result of tickets purchased for the Science Park’s 40th anniversary barbecue and raffle.
Lucinda Lamont, Business Development Manager, visited the centre and was very impressed. "Waterside Foodbank is clearly a lifeline for the local community, especially at this time of the year, when many families struggle to provide for their children over the summer holidays, a situation compounded by the current economic climate,” she said.
“We hope that the money we raised will help the team there to continue their excellent work in the coming months, and once again extend gratitude to people across the Park that got involved in our birthday celebrations and helped to support our wider community.”
The Waterside Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network and covers the whole area from Eling to Calshot, and from East Boldre to Southampton Water. Waterside Foodbank | Helping Local People in Crisis
