Innovation Abounds

The Science Park team was swept off its feet, hosting a stand alongside the Future Towns Innovation Hub at an extremely busy Venturefest South in November. 

The annual festival of innovation showcases the South’s talent, innovative companies and research capabilities through bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs and funders. Encouragingly, it seems more popular than ever, as Science Park Business Development Manager, Lucinda Lamont, reflected, “There was a really great atmosphere at this year’s Venturefest, it felt very collaborative and energising and I was impressed by the level of interest in all that we have to offer here at Southampton Science Park.

“It was great to see so many companies connected with Southampton Science Park in attendance too, including some female entrepreneurs that I met at our Women Entrepreneur’s Workout, as well as current and previous participants in our Catalyst business accelerator programme. 

“We were proud to learn that one such company, BirthGlide, had scooped this year’s Early Stage Innovator Award presented at the event. The award was won last year by another Catalyst company, Labl.it. Can we make it three in a row?!”
