Egg and Spoon or Tug of War?
Over 60 employees from companies across the Science Park came tearing out of their offices one lunchtime in June for our revived community sports day.
There may not have been ginger beer and jam sponge on offer, but there was much merriment and competitive spirit on show during this retro-inspired event - a welcome contrast to the high-tech day job. With team heats including Throw the Beanbag, Egg and Spoon Race, Mini Assault Course and Water Bucket Transfer, everyone put on a jolly good show!
And what would any sports day be without a good old-fashioned Tug of War as the ultimate decider? After a great deal of huffing and puffing, the amazing team from Crondall Energy were victorious, closely followed by AccelerComm (who entered six teams! Good effort, chaps!) and LVC who came in third.
Lucinda Lamont, Science Park Business Development Manager, said, “What could signal summer more than a traditional sports day? There’s nothing quite like it for a bit of fun and we were treated to an absolutely glorious sunny day and an ice cream van to boot. I heard from many that they enjoyed the day so much, they want to see us run it every year. And who am I to disagree?!”
Time to get training then…
