Coffee For a Cause
Southampton Science Park was pleased to join thousands of people across the UK in support of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September, ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Expertly organised by Jazz and Sarah in the Science Park office, the event raised £400. This could go a long way: just £100 could pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, providing them with skills to improve the management of these areas in their lives. This annual fundraising event has raised over £290m since it began in 1990.
Jazz Woodward, Conferencing Manager, said, “Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to bake, donate or buy a cake and a coffee on Friday. Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is a great way for us all to come together for a good cause. Shockingly, one in two of us will face cancer at some point so it’s good to know that the money we all contributed to raising will help those affected to live life as fully as they can through Macmillan’s expert services.”
