Navigating The Legal Landscape

On Thursday 3 rd March, Southampton Science Park hosted the first in a new event series for 2022 entitled The Legal Landscape, devised in partnership with leading law firm, Blake Morgan.

Ben Evans, Legal Director and Chartered Trademark Attorney, and Mathew Wilson, Corporate Law Specialist and Partner, presented the inaugural session on best practice management of commercial intellectual property. Attendees remarked about how valuable the content was, challenging them to really consider their options, trademarks being of particular interest.

Reflecting on the event, Southampton Science Park’s Business Development Director, Jane Holt, said: “The dynamic in the room was incredibly productive for all concerned. The group this evening was intimate and fluid and it worked really well in enabling people to move around the
room, pick expert brains and speak to one another about their experiences. It’s rare to get this quality engagement in business settings and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.

She continued: “A key take-away for me from this event is that there is an enormous amount of expertise for business leaders - and aspiring business leaders - on the ground locally with specialists like Ben and Matthew who are keen to grow with the businesses that they represent.”

The Legal Landscape series will help business owners navigate the whole business journey from pre-revenue to investment and, ultimately, to a successful exit from the all-important legal perspective.
