Making Work Wonderful

Southampton Science Park has chosen Jane Scarth House: Romsey Cancer Support Centre as its official charity for 2022.

Jane Scarth House provides emotional and practical assistance to anyone whose life is affected by cancer. This can be the person living with cancer, a family member, close friend or carer. Since opening in 1995, this independent charity has assisted thousands of people and their families throughout their cancer journey from diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond. All Jane Scarth House services are provided free of charge via a walk-in centre in Romsey.

The Science Park aims to raise £10,000 over the course of the year, engaging with its resident community to help achieve this goal.

Robin Chave, CEO of Southampton Science Park said: “We are passionate about recognising valuable services conducted throughout our local community and this is why we are thrilled to be supporting Jane Scarth House throughout 2022.

Often, it is the large, well-known charities that benefit from commercial partnerships meaning that small, locally focused charitable enterprises miss out on much needed assistance. Jane Scarth House is one such charity. An extremely lean operation that receives no government funding, this independent charity relies on fundraising to provide much needed expertise and services to people throughout our area that are affected by cancer. I hope that the whole Science Park community will join us in boosting awareness and raising funds to aid the charity’s team in their important work.”
