Treating the deadliest cancers
Jasper Therapeutics has joined the Science Park community, taking a self-contained laboratory office space within the Park’s multi-occupancy Science Centre.
Jasper Therapeutics is focused on the treatment of some of the deadliest subtypes of breast, lung, ovarian and pancreatic cancer. Its chemotherapy drugs are combinations of classical chemotherapy drugs and novel therapeutic agents that promise significant improvement in mortality and quality of life of patients suffering from some of the rarest and deadliest forms of cancer prevalent in society.
The company’s prestigious team of drug development specialists have over one hundred years of combined academic, industry and regulatory experience. Dr Sam Lal (Former Faculty, Harvard University), who led the move to Southampton, said: “The facilities at Southampton Science Park meet our current and future needs perfectly. At this stage of development, we need a property partner that understands the challenges associated with commercialising new scientific approaches. The management team at Southampton Science Park clearly have this insight and experience and we are very pleased to be here.”
Jane Holt, Business Development Director for the Science Park, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jasper Therapeutics to Southampton Science Park. We feel passionately that important work like this should not be impeded by traditional commercial property constraints, and this is exactly why we created the Science Centre. With its category 1 wet and dry laboratory units, we equip and support companies that need flexible and scalable space for research and development, prior to investment.”
