Completing the Catalyst Line-Up

Profiling four more companies that have joined Southampton Science Park’s Catalyst business accelerator programme.

• Focus Medtech is developing a device to track, predict and manage the symptoms of ADHD in diagnosed school aged children.

ADHD affects 5% (129 million) children worldwide and often has significant impacts for their future prospects. In the UK, it adds £1.1bn to the Department of Education’s special education needs (SEN) costs each year. Focus Medtech’s solution uses biomedical data and artificial intelligence to help reduce symptom flareups, benefiting children, their families, classmates and teachers.

Founder Julian Rigamonti said, “We are very pleased to secure a place on the Catalyst programme as it is absolutely ideal for our current needs. We hope it will enable us to get our business plans robustly challenged and sense checked, gain a better understanding of the healthcare market, the NHS and NICE approvals, and learn and network for business and personal growth. With a strong emphasis on modern web and cloud systems, the company’s customized approach is aimed at businesses seeking innovation or scaling opportunities involving software but who lack the necessary technical resources internally.

Founders Thomas Mitchelmore, Max Taylor, Niall Morrison, John Baker and James Harcourt have joined the Catalyst programme with the aim of highlighting key areas of improvement with their business and fine tuning their business plan to allocate resources effectively to develop high value, long-term revenue streams. “We feel a mixture of relief, pride and excitement at the moment – our whole team are keen to explore new directions and learning opportunities!” they said.

• QuJiT offers a broad range of quantum technology solutions to guide customers to understanding the potential of joining the quantum revolution.

Quantum Just-in-Time offers consultancy and research and development services, as well as quantum hardware sales including NMR quantum educational computers, superconducting chips, and NV Diamond microscopes. It is also developing novel quantum technologies that are advancing quantum energy systems and quantum emitter technologies.

• ​Healthroam has created a modular platform which enables closer integration and collaboration across healthcare providers.  

With hundreds of users already signed-up, Healthroam’s trusted digital identity technology connects NHS staff to overcome challenges around efficiency, productivity and communication. Its solutions work no matter where care providers are based, which devices they use and without needing to rely on guest Wi-Fi or additional IT systems.
