Role Description

The successful applicant will join Ilika’s scientific team and will focus on the application and further development of Ilika’s proprietary combinatorial thin film technology for applied research into inorganic materials.

Ideal Applicant Profile

Min. Qualifications:
MSc or MEng in materials science, physics, physical chemistry or chemical engineering, although a PhD would be an advantage

Min. Experience Level:
Recent graduate

Experience Type:
Experience with development of battery or fuel cell materials, thin film synthesis (evaporation, sputtering, CVD), thick film synthesis (printing), materials characterisation and testing (XRD, XPS, EDS, SEM, ellipsometry, electrochemical measurements, conductivity tests) and data analysis and informatics (descriptive statistics and programming in Matlab, LabVIEW or Python)

Electrochemistry, team player, clear communication skills (verbal presentation and written), desktop software literate (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Disposition:Comfortable working in a small-company environment, naturally inquisitive, energetic, independent, not risk averse.
