New Report on Evaluating Models of Care

23 January 2018

Science Park based Wessex Academic Health Science Network (WAHSN) has published a short report evaluating how patients feel when they experience new models of care. It will be of interest to anyone planning or undertaking evaluation in health or social care.

WAHSN - in partnership with the Centre for Implementation Science at the University of Southampton and R-Outcomes Ltd – carried out research using a mixed-methods approach. There was a strong focus on the impact on patients and carers.

The report responds to local evaluation guidance, published by NHS England in 2017, that calls for a strengthened focus on capturing and evaluating patient and residents’ experience of transformed services.

WASHN welcomes any feedback or opportunities to discuss the challenges raised in order to refine their approach in this area.
