Science Park Builds On Success At South Coast Property Awards
Mon 5th June 2017
The University of Southampton Science Park has been shortlisted twice in the South Coast Property Awards 2017, building on its success last year when it was named Business Park of the Year.
The Science Park’s recently launched new office accommodation, Benham 5, has been shortlisted in the category of Development of the Year. This award celebrates a project which demonstrates both funder’s and developer’s ability to create an exciting new commercial development that not only matches industry standards but adds value to the region.
The second nomination is in the category of Workplace of the Year. Here, judges are looking to reward organisations who have used their property strategy to create quality working styles, increased productivity, innovative working environments and open, inclusive work cultures.
Science Park CEO Peter Birkett said on hearing the news: “After winning Business Park of the Year at the same event last year, we are thrilled to be recognised once more. This consecutive annual recognition demonstrates that we are not resting on our laurels; instead working tirelessly to ensure that the University of Southampton Science Park is not only a beacon for excellence in the South, but nationally.
“That we are recognised in these hotly contested, and quite diverse, categories is also a reflection of the fact that we are so much more than a property business, with our continued emphasis on the business support networks and community spirit that we have successfully created for the benefit of the many companies and employees based here.”
The Science Park team warmly applauds all organisations that have been shortlisted in these important regional awards. Winners will be announced at a black tie event to be held at the Ageas Bowl in July.
