China is one of the UK’s fastest growing export markets. Exports of goods to China have more than doubled since 2010, and China is now the UK’s sixth largest export market. Despite the recent slowdown, China’s shift towards promoting domestic consumption and creating an innovation and entrepreneurship driven economy is creating new opportunities for British companies in many sectors. Urbanisation and a rapidly ageing population are also creating specific opportunities in areas such as medical technology, elderly care, health foods, education, tourism and financial services.
This event is co-hosted by Southampton Science Park and the Wessex Life Science Cluster
for companies to find out how to engage with the Chinese ‘Silver Consumer’ market. Mark Hedley from the China-Britain Business Council
will talk about what you can gain from the opportunities available and look at the practical challenges for companies preparing themselves to do business in China.
