ENGAGE - Demystifying Workplace Pensions Auto-Enrolment
Wed 16th March 2016
The law on workplace pensions has changed. Under the Pensions Act 2008, every employer in the UK must put certain staff into a pension scheme and contribute towards it. This is called 'automatic enrolment'.
However, the duties you have as employers vary - depending on your individual circumstances and those of your staff - and so too do the dates by which you must comply. It’s complex: in fact there are 250 pages of government guidelines on the subject! And, with enforcement processes and penalty notices already in place, it’s a potential minefield for busy business owners. One thing is for sure: time is now of the essence as delays could be costly.
That’s why we are delighted to welcome Helen Llewellyn from The Enrolment Professionals to the Science Park to demystify the whole initiative. Helen will outline:
- If auto enrolment applies to your company.
- The staging dates and when your company needs to start the process.
- What you need to do and by when.
- How to choose the right cost-effective pension scheme for your business.
- If there are any more cost-effective solutions to consider.
- Who to go to for help.
This event will take the format of a 45 minute presentation followed by a group Q&A session. Helen is also happy to hold one-to-one sections afterwards upon request.
