Dr. Mike Santer Named Technology Advisor for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

Dr.Mike Santer, a Catalyst Centre graduate and now SETsquared member has been named as a Technology Advisor for the Technology Partner Network, part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Technology Partner Network is a private social media network created to solicit the input of industry leaders in technology who can assist in identifying and accelerating potential solutions to some of the Foundation’s technology challenges.
Mike Santer commented: “I’m thrilled to be invited to be a part of this global team. Our aim is to accelerate solution development and to match technology services to project needs. I’m hugely excited by the challenge – it’s one that I will relish!”
Mike is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton and an experienced businessman. He is the Founder of BluPoint, a solar powered pop-up intranet with an updatable content server, and has recently returned to business following completion of his PhD researching the drivers and dampeners of mobile Internet in sub-Saharan Africa. This involved extensive field work in Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, Kenya and South Africa.
