Science Park Christmas Fayre

Tue 11th December 2012

Thursday the 6th of December saw Southampton Science Park’s Social Committee host their first Christmas Fayre. Behind the scenes action commenced with the job of erecting the marquee, an exercise which thoroughly tested the skills of some eminent Science and Technology brains! After initial confusion, mostly related to not reading the instructions, the marquee was up, ready for the stallholders to display a variety of local crafts and Christmas gift ideas.

Tenants visiting the Christmas Fayre were fuelled by a delicious hog roast, mulled wine, and minced pies, and were entertained by children from the Yellow Dot Nursery, who came along to sing carols. The event also included a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses, in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Additional entertainment came in the form of a "Santa Run”, where a number of brave Park tenants took part in a 1.5 mile circuit, dressed in Santa costumes!

This event was hosted by the Science Park Social Committee with the aim of bringing together the Park community. The day was a huge success, with almost 200 tickets sold! We look forward to more Science Park Social Club events in the new year!
